MAL-2026-18339 Malicious code in buttoncontent (npm)

Package [email protected] contains two files with no install-time lifecycle scripts, no network activity, no filesystem reads of installer-secret paths, and no execution of fetched or obfuscated content. The version coordinate (0.0.0-stage) and minimal file count are consistent with a placeholder or staging publication rather than a functional library. No exfiltration, dropper, backdoor, silent-relay, or credential-distribution mechanism is present.

Any computer that has this package installed or running should be considered fully compromised. All secrets and keys stored on that computer should be rotated immediately from a different computer. The package should be removed, but as full control of the computer may have been given to an outside entity, there is no guarantee that removing the package will remove all malicious software resulting from installing it.
