What is MAL-2026-18349?
MAL-2026-18349 is a malicious package in ccsseecc-crypto-toolkit, published on 27 Oct 2026.
Official description
Package ccsseecc-crypto-toolkit at version 0.0.0-stage ships two files with no code patterns associated with credential theft, install-time remote code execution, silent relay, backdoors, or self-propagation. No lifecycle scripts, no outbound network calls, no filesystem reads of installer-secret paths, and no attacker-controlled destinations were observed. The version string and minimal file count are consistent with a placeholder or staging release.
Any computer that has this package installed or running should be considered fully compromised. All secrets and keys stored on that computer should be rotated immediately from a different computer. The package should be removed, but as full control of the computer may have been given to an outside entity, there is no guarantee that removing the package will remove all malicious software resulting from installing it.
What should I do about MAL-2026-18349?
Remove the package from your dependencies and lockfiles, then rotate any secrets on machines where it was installed.
