MAL-2026-6387 Malicious code in multer-express (npm)

Package name 'multer-express' is similar to the widely used 'multer' middleware for Express. No malicious code patterns, install-time hooks, or exfiltration behaviors were identified in the package contents. Name-similarity alone is a subjective signal and may indicate an unrelated derivative, fork, or beginner package rather than an attack. Routing to human review for name-confusion assessment.

Any computer that has this package installed or running should be considered fully compromised. All secrets and keys stored on that computer should be rotated immediately from a different computer. The package should be removed, but as full control of the computer may have been given to an outside entity, there is no guarantee that removing the package will remove all malicious software resulting from installing it.
